Terminal Tuesday -- The Stooges

Huh? Well, the original guitar player for The Stooges, Ron Asheton, was found dead today, so there may be "No Fun" no mo' like what they created.

It was way back when, and someone turned me on to this album, The Stooges, and I ended up listening to it all messed up on the floor, over and over, because they had something special, and a big part of it was the originality of the guitar player, and the rest of it was the attitude displayed by the material and (for other people than me) the innovative stage diving and moshing of the singer.

Their anthem (in my opinion), "No Fun," became a stage-rushing tour de force worldwide. To memorialize them, I have chosen a live performance in the Netherlands that shows several bold Dutch people rushing the stage and stripping down totally nude. You can hear Iggy Stooge calling Ron Asheton out to deliver the participatory, orgiastic, sonic voodoo that made them special.

Here's the original recording.
