Yes, I remember, a few days after Steve Cohen beat Gary Belz for the Democratic nomination (tantamount to election) for Tennessee State Senate District 30, Gary brought Memphis Slim into a grand show at his family's Peabody (Hotel) Skyway and had the class to have me sit with him at his table, knowing I had just helped Steve beat him.
