Gotta go with The Olympics.
Head was an Elvis wannabe(wasn't everyone at that time?) and while I like Sir Douglas, it was difficult not to vote for The Kingsman, as they were the first concert I attended in my life. I was eight years old.

BTW, in this early version one can clearly understand the lyric to Louie Louie, so I don't understand why rumors persisted that it was a dirty song.

It's all pretty hood, but I've a Head-head since I saw him live at the Ponderosa Stomp a few years ago. He still does all that crazy shite. like he was still a teenager. We based come of the chreography in my version of the Rocky Horror Show on Roy's show. The videos are up at creaturebuilder.blogspot.com

I bet Shindig asked the Kingsmen to use the real Richard Berry lyrics unslurred; and I'm almost sure the show required Roy Head to substitute the work "kissin'" for "lovin'" almost everywhere in the song.
