Director Godwin is hoping to secure enough federal grant dollars to purchase two SkyWatch Patrol Towers by New Year's Eve.
Oh come on, Larry, that money would be better spent installing rotating and zooming cameras on buildings and booms along Beale, taping the output, and paying cops on the ground to watch images from those, instead of trapping two cops up in these silly and ugly towers.
Yeah, but cameras that aren't expensive, gigantic eyesores don't provide nearly the public relations opportunity.
